An 86-year-old Parker County man told deputies he was assaulted and robbed by a woman pretending to be a cop after she broke into his home before leaving with $2000 in cash.
The Parker County Sheriff’s Office said officers were called to a home on July 16 after the elderly man told 911 he had just been robbed by Jacqueline Smith Johnson, “a person the victim knew.”
According to investigators, the victim told deputies someone repeatedly banged on his back door while announcing themselves as “police.” When he opened the door, a strobing flashlight was shone on his face before the perpetrators forced their way into the home.
During the struggle, where Smith was “yelling at him, demanding money, or he was going to jail,” the elderly victim told investigators he was able to recognize his attacker.
Investigators also allege Johnson beat up the 86-year-old before putting him into a choke hold and stealing $2,000 in cash before running away. Sheriff Russ Authier called criminals who target elderly victims “the absolute worst kind.”
On Monday, detectives were able to find and arrest Johnson, where PCSO said she was charged with aggravated robbery of an elderly person, a first-degree felony. She was held on a $50,000 bond, but according to WFAA, citing jail records, Johnson posted bail two days later.
