MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WKBT) — Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was arrested Thursday evening in Milwaukee on suspicion of operating while intoxicated, according to Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office records.

Deputies arrested Romo, 46, at 6:18 p.m. at 949 North 9th Street in the City of Milwaukee for OWI first offense, according to the arrest report.

The report says Romo was stopped by law enforcement on southbound Interstate 43. The report states Romo performed “poorly” on standard field sobriety tests and was taken into custody for OWI.

The arrest report indicates Romo was cooperative during the arrest. He was booked and released from the Milwaukee County Jail around 11 p.m. Thursday.

The Burlington, Wisconsin native played with the Dallas Cowboys from 2003 to 2016, earning four Pro Bowl selections. Since retiring from professional football, Romo has worked as the lead NFL analyst for CBS Sports.

Romo is scheduled to appear in court on September 21.
