LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Heat advisory in effect from 1 to 9pm for Hall, Childress, Motley, and Cottle Counties from 1p-9p, where higher humidity will bring heat index values up to about 108 degrees.

Strong high pressure will keep the South Plains hot, dry, and largely storm-free throughout the week.

Winds will remain light today and stay consistent. Highs will climb into the low triple digits for most of the area.

Heat will carry over into Monday with highs settling into the lower 100s on the Caprock and around 105 farther east. Additional heat advisories may be needed.
Overnight lows will stay warm and mild(KCBD)
Warm nights in the 70s will provide little relief from the back-to-back heat.
The next chance for storms may arrive late Friday or Saturday, but it’s still far out and confidence remains low.
