EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A new El Pollo Loco location has popped up on Airway in East El Paso that’s under a different franchise from previous locations.

The El Pollo Loco Tex-Mex franchise started in California and has since opened up several spots across the U.S., including El Paso. The new restaurant is located at 1441 Airway.

The franchise offers fire-grilled chicken that is citrus marinated and grilled over a low flame for 60 minutes.

The chicken comes in a two, three, or four-piece served with traditional rice and beans. You can also substitute the sides with mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, broccoli, corn, salad, and coleslaw.

The franchise also offers burrito bowls, burritos, tostadas, nachos, salads, quesadillas, flan, churros, and much more.

El Pollo Loco General Manager Christian Borges says this location is different from the other locations that were opened and closed in El Paso, as it’s now a different franchise.

“El Paso is a growing market, there’s a lot of great things happening here from many other businesses joining, so El Pollo Loco really wanted to touch that market once again because they know that El Paso loves food.”

The restaurant is now open as of Tuesday, Oct. 14, and they will be having an official grand opening on Friday, Oct. 24.

The restaurant is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week, and also has a drive-thru.
