Improvements are coming to three neighborhood parks in south Fort Worth.
City staff reviewed plans at a June 25 public meeting, where residents were given the opportunity to ask questions and make suggestions. Fort Worth City Council member Mia Hall of District 6 greeted attendees as they arrived.
The planned improvements:
Playground for ages 5-12
Shade shelter near the playground
Fitness equipment along the trail
Replaced benches and trash cans
Drinking fountain
New loop trail

Some attendees asked questions about Rosemary Ridge, including about bike trails, lighting, fire ant control and coyotes in the area.
The city staff said they would look into adding bike trails and solar lights. Other residents asked about planting more trees and adding fences. Grants are available for tree planting and parks are generally not fenced because they are public.
One attendee asked if the park could have emergency call buttons, and a city staff member said the parks department is looking into that.
A city official told one resident that Fox Run Park could be used for football practice.
When asked if the parks would be worked on one at a time or simultaneously, the staff said it depends on the bid contract later in the planning process.
