AUSTIN, Texas — The Travis County District Attorney’s Office has dismissed charges against Dr. Aaron Ali and Adeline Bui related to the abuse of a human corpse without legal authority and aggravated perjury. However, Adeline Bui still faces five charges of tampering with government records.

District Attorney José Garza explained the decision, stating, “In these cases, we have concluded that sufficient evidence of a legal defense exists, which precludes us from proceeding with the cases.”

The motions to dismiss were filed on Tuesday, Oct. 14, following a careful review of the evidence, according to Garza.

Dr. Aaron Ali, CEO of the medical research company MedtoMarket, was arrested by the Austin Police Department on April 28, 2025, and charged with abuse of a human corpse without legal authority and aggravated perjury. Adeline Bui, owner of Capital Mortuary Services at 201 Victor Street, was arrested on April 18, 2025, facing similar charges along with five counts of tampering with government records.

Garza emphasized the importance of evaluating facts and evidence in every case to ensure felony offenses can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
