After its debut, the project will be displayed at Galleria Dallas through the holiday season
The University of Texas at Dallas has spent more than 50 years growing into one of North Texas’ leading universities. A pair of LEGO builders recreated it in just over two weeks.
On July 30, the Center for Retail Innovation and Strategy Excellence (RISE) at the Naveen Jindal School of Management will unveil “UTD in Brick,” a detailed LEGO model of the university’s campus. After its debut, the display will head to Galleria Dallas, where it will be on view throughout the holiday season.
Built Brick By Brick
The miniature campus was designed and assembled by LEGO builders Kurt Zimmerle and Roldan Grace in just two and a half weeks.
Throughout July, faculty and staff watched the project take shape as buildings, walkways and campus landmarks were assembled piece by piece before the finished model’s unveiling.

Beginning around Thanksgiving, shoppers at Galleria Dallas will have the opportunity to see the completed display during the center’s holiday season.
More Than A LEGO Display
The project was created by the RISE Center to give students hands-on experience with retail planning, merchandising and public engagement.
Rather than serving as a standalone art installation, the exhibit is designed to support student opportunities at the Naveen Jindal School of Management. Proceeds generated through the initiative will help fund student travel, academic competitions and scholarships.
From Campus To The Galleria
Although the live construction was limited to UT Dallas faculty and staff, the finished model will soon reach a much larger audience.
After its July 30 unveiling, “UTD in Brick” will move to Galleria Dallas, where holiday shoppers can explore a miniature version of one of North Texas’ fastest-growing universities while supporting future student experiences.
