The sports bar brings chef-driven dishes, creative drinks and F1 racing simulators to Plano
North Texas is no stranger to sports bars. In a region where game days are practically a way of life, there’s no shortage of places to catch a matchup, grab a drink and cheer on a favorite team. But Victory Tap is bringing a different kind of experience to the field.
Lombardi Family Concepts, the hospitality group behind several of North Texas’ well-known restaurants, has stepped into the sports lounge scene with a more elevated approach. Victory Tap Sports Lounge opened June 13 at 5973 W. Parker Road, blending the energy of a classic sports bar with a polished dining and entertainment experience.
Local Profile recently stopped by to see what makes this new Plano spot stand out — and it delivers far more than just a place to watch the game.
Step Inside Victory Tap
Victory Tap was designed to be more than a place to catch the big game. The Plano venue combines the energy of a sports bar with the feel of a neighborhood hangout, casual restaurant and entertainment destination all under one roof.
“A great restaurant becomes part of the neighborhood, part of the routine,” Founder and Owner Alberto Lombardi said. “With Victory Tap, we created a place for all of it — the big games, the slow Sunday mornings, the nights that stretch longer than planned. After all these years, I still believe great hospitality is the kind that simply makes people feel at ease.”
Sports remain at the center of the experience, but guests will find plenty to do between plays. The venue features a professional-grade Formula 1 racing simulator, an outdoor bocce court, cornhole, foosball and shuffleboard, with plans to host tournaments and community events throughout the year.

The F1 simulator is one of the venue’s biggest draws, offering a unique option for date nights, group outings or friendly competition. The dedicated space includes two racing simulators along with seating for spectators, allowing guests to watch the action unfold. The machines are built for a realistic racing experience, with different skill levels available and head-to-head competition. Guests can race for $20 per 15-minute session.
Dining That Competes
While the games and activities create the atmosphere, Victory Tap’s kitchen aims to keep guests coming back. Unlike traditional sports bars where food can feel like an afterthought, the menu puts equal focus on elevated takes on familiar favorites.
Game-day classics like wings come in flavors including Texas peach BBQ and Thai chili garlic, while starters such as crispy calamari and Bloody Mary deviled eggs add a more elevated touch.

During our visit, we sampled several dishes that show Victory Tap’s menu goes beyond typical sports bar fare. The bang bang shrimp delivered the perfect balance of sweet and spicy, while the queso is a must-order with its thick, creamy texture paired with crunchy tortilla chips.
For entrées, the miso cod was a standout, served with sticky white rice and cooked to a tender finish. The sweet glaze gave the fish a rich flavor while keeping the dish light. The tavern-style margherita pizza featured a flavorful tomato sauce and generous dollops of mozzarella, creating a simple but satisfying classic.
For guests looking for something beyond traditional game-day favorites, Victory Tap also offers raw and seafood selections, including oysters and sushi. The steak frites provide another elevated option, served with an au poivre sauce that brings a steakhouse feel without the steakhouse price tag.
Raise A Glass
Of course, no sports lounge experience is complete without drinks, and Victory Tap’s cocktail menu is designed to be part of the experience. The Pit Stop, a refreshing twist on an Aperol spritz, combines Aperol, lemon, honey and mango wheat ale for a drink that feels like summer in a glass. The High Quality H2O is another warm-weather favorite, made with Tito’s vodka, aloe liqueur, cucumber, lemongrass and sparkling water for a crisp, refreshing finish.
For something frozen, the Red Card is a must-try. The colorful cocktail blends St-Germain elderflower, watermelon, raspberry, lime, prosecco and mint into a frozen drink that feels right at home on a Texas summer day.

Victory Tap is redefining what a sports bar can be.
