EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — As the El Paso Independent School District weighs a bond proposal worth just over $445 million, district leaders say the plan would not require a tax increase and would focus on major needs across EPISD campuses.
El Paso ISD Superintendent Dr. Brian Lusk joined KFOX14 Community Conversations to talk about the upcoming school year.
The proposed bond would address items including HVAC systems at schools, a key area district leaders have highlighted as part of the bond’s purpose.
EPISD is also preparing to launch a free mobile app this school year that will allow families to track their child’s school bus in real time. The district is introducing the technology as part of its back-to-school efforts.
District leaders are also asking for community feedback on the bond proposal, with information on where people can weigh in expected to be shared by EPISD.
