The Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office has charged two brothers with murder in connection with a June killing in the grass of a public park in south Fort Worth.
Jorge Martinez Lone, 30, and Javier Martinez, 28, were on July 9 charged in the death of Franklin Cobos-Carbajal, 29, at the edge of Carter Park, according to a county district clerk record.
A pathologist at the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office, which reported that the homicide victim was Omar Lobos-Carbalai, determined that the man’s death was caused by multiple gunshot wounds and blunt force injuries.
The Fort Worth Police Department declined to release to the press the arrest warrant affidavit in the case. Such affidavits describe evidence and often offer an account of the killing.
Cobos-Carbajal was found about 11 p.m. lying on the ground at the edge of the park, according to a police department spokesperson.
The Cobos-Carbajal case is the second instance this year in Fort Worth in which brothers were charged in a homicide.
Police in January arrested twin brothers, Samuel and Solomon Gbadebo, 20, in connection with the killing of an employee, 20-year-old Isaiah Angel Gonzales, outside a Fort Worth restaurant.

The Gbadebos were also charged with murder in connection with a killing on the grounds of an apartment complex that occurred 15 days before the restaurant shooting.
In that case, Devan Randles, 19, was shot while he was trying to steal items from cars in the complex’s parking lot, a detective wrote in an affidavit supporting a warrant to search the Gbadebo home.
Shortly before he was shot early on Nov. 15, Randles and three other men wearing masks and hoodies walked from his house to the complex in the 3300 block of Augusta Lane, near Western Center Boulevard, according to the affidavit.
A grand jury declined to indict the Gbadebos in Randles’ death.
