Dallas-based Sendero Consulting today announced the acquisition of Torq Consulting. Torq specializes in accelerating digital transformation through AI-powered custom development, data engineering and analytics.
The move adds about 90 consultants to Sendero’s roster. It significantly expands the firm’s technical capabilities in digital transformation, AI-powered custom application development and advanced data analytics. Via the acquisition, Sendero strengthens its existing industry expertise in healthcare, energy and utilities, manufacturing and financial services. It also adds Plano-based Torq’s specialized experience in automotive, airlines and consumer services.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Sendero founder and CEO Bret Farrar said that for decades businesses had to adjust their processes to fit packaged software’s requirements.
“AI-powered custom development changes that equation entirely — allowing tailored, bespoke solutions to be built directly around the business to drive true innovation and differentiation,” Farrar said. “Torq brings the technical depth and the track record to do that at scale, and this acquisition instantly expands our ability to deliver those results for our clients nationwide.”
AI-enabled ‘bespoke enterprise solutions’
Since its founding in 2020, Torq has built a reputation for helping organizations through high-impact digital transformations. The firm applies AI-powered custom development and data-driven business intelligence to do it.
The firm will keep its name and offices in Plano, operating as Torq, a Sendero Company. That structure provides seamless continuity for existing clients while allowing collaborations involving both firms.
Chad Staiger, founder and CEO of Torq Consulting, called combining forces with Sendero “a milestone moment that instantly elevates” what Torq can offer to both clients and team members.
“Sendero carries an incredible reputation and long-standing history of brand recognition in their markets, backed by deep industry experience,” Staiger said. “We are gaining the rapid scale needed to execute larger, more complex digital transformations while staying firmly committed to our shared values.”
A Dallas consulting firm’s next chapter
Founded in 2004 by Bret Farrar and his wife, Ruth Farrar – the company’s chief operating officer – Sendero has grown steadily since. In late 2025, the firm began a comprehensive rebrand to focus on the “how” of business transformation.
Acquiring Torq “marks a pivotal chapter in Sendero’s ongoing growth story,” the company said, supercharging its ability to deliver “bespoke enterprise solutions.” Torq adds key technical strengths, including modernized product engineering, data strategy, governance and modeling, as well as advanced AI enablement.
