When talent exits a TV station, it usually isn’t long before new faces move in and become those familiar TV personalities in a city. At one San Antonio station, a few new reporters have joined in recent months, and that trend is continuing.

KSAT 12 has welcomed reporter Hunter King, a Houstonian who comes to the station from 13WMAZ in Georgia. He covers breaking moments, local
government and other stories across South Texas, according to his bio. In a June 28 Instagram post, King shared the “big news” that the Alamo City is “my new home” and that he would soon begin as a reporter at the local ABC affiliate.

“Those of you who know me know I love being back in Texas, and even though the past two years have taught me a lot, I can’t wait for this new adventure in the Alamo City,” King said. “This is going to be a great chapter.”

The Sam Houston State University graduate spent two years at 13WMAZ before making the jump, according to another post. He moved there from Houston, “stressed out of my mind.”

“I was leaving my family and friends behind, starting over in a new city… and then the movers lost half my stuff (not a joke),” King wrote. “I remember feeling pretty overwhelmed, like ‘what did I get myself into?’ But looking back, I’m so glad it all happened the way it did. That rough start taught me that no matter how hard things get, they always work out for the better. Georgia welcomed me with open arms, and these past two years have helped me grow so much — not just as a reporter, but as a person. I’ve learned a ton, made amazing connections, and I’m leaving here a better version of myself, even though I still have so much more to learn.”

King is joined at KSAT 12 by another new reporter, Olivia Dague, coming off three years in Tennessee. Hailing from Arlington, Dague is also a Texan and has family here in San Antonio.

“We are thrilled to welcome Hunter King and Olivia Dague to our growing team of dedicated and experienced journalists, focused on serving our viewers where they live,” KSAT 12 News Director Jace Larson said in a statement to MySA. “KSAT12’s focus is deep-rooted reporting in our communities — sharing the stories that matter and bringing answers to our neighbors. Hunter and Olivia’s knowledge and storytelling experience will continue to place a spotlight on the communities we serve.”

Both Dague and King have already started at the station.
