SAN ANTONIO – A man was killed, and a suspect was taken into custody after a shooting on the Southeast Side, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
Just before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to the shooting in the 4600 block of East Southcross, near South WW White Road.
Upon arrival, police said officers learned the shooting spanned more than one location. SAPD did not reveal the second location.
A San Antonio Fire Department spokesperson told KSAT the man was in a vehicle and was reportedly shot multiple times. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said officers later identified a possible shooter and tracked him down.
The suspect, identified as a man, was later found, along with his vehicle, and “willingly gave up,” police said. The man was taken into custody without incident.
Police at the scene said officers are still searching for the weapon used in the shooting.
A woman may have been with the suspect, and SAPD said they believe she was involved at some point. It’s unclear if the woman was the one who called police.
A motive for the shooting remains unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
