Kalamaki Greek Eatery, an authentic Greek souvlaki and gyro restaurant that first opened in Anna, is expanding with a new location at 1016 E. 15th St. this fall. The restaurant will move into the former BAR Ranch Steak Company space, bringing its menu of grilled skewers, fresh salads and traditional Greek favorites to one of Plano’s most popular dining districts.
From Mykonos To North Texas
Founded by owners who grew up in Mykonos, Kalamaki was created to share the casual street food culture found throughout Greece and its islands.
Known in Greece as a “souvlatzidiko,” Kalamaki specializes in souvlaki, a beloved Greek dish featuring seasoned meats grilled on skewers and served in wraps, plates or alongside classic accompaniments. The concept draws directly from the owners’ experiences growing up surrounded by the flavors, traditions and relaxed dining culture of Mykonos.
The restaurant’s goal is to bring that same authentic taste of Greece to Texas, offering guests a glimpse of the food and hospitality that define the Greek islands.
Greek Classics And Customer Favorites
The Kalamaki menu highlights simple, traditional dishes made for casual dining. Guests can expect favorites such as grilled beef skewers, gyro-style wraps, pita sandwiches, burgers and fresh Mediterranean-inspired sides.
The menu also features Greek staples including hummus, dolmas, baklava and loukoumades, a traditional Greek dessert made of fried dough topped with honey.
Since opening in Anna, Kalamaki has built a following among diners looking for authentic Greek flavors without leaving North Texas. The Downtown Plano location will bring the concept closer to a larger audience while introducing its Mykonos-inspired cuisine to a new neighborhood.
