A viral Dallas-based Korean spot is expanding to open a new storefront near the University of Texas at Austin soon. Neko Yubu announced on social media that it’s preparing to open the doors to its first Austin space this weekend.
The new eatery, located at 1910 Guadalupe St. along the Drag, will host a soft opening starting on Saturday, August 1 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to its Instagram. It will be closed Sunday, but will reopen Monday, August 3 through Friday, August, 7 from 3 to 8 p.m.
“As all of you have been waiting for our opening of our Austin location, our team is finishing up the touches to get it going this August!” Neko Yubu’s Austin Instagram post said.
To celebrate its soft opening, the first 30 customers in line will receive a free box of four yubus. Neko Yubu is known for its Korean yubus, which are deep-fried tofu pockets stuffed with seasoned rice and toppings like fresh salmon, spicy pork, egg mayo and more, according to its online menu.
Neko concluded their post by encouraging visitors to get there early to be the first to try their yubus in Austin.
