TGIF!
My parents used to blast regional Mexican music all the time in the car. From Los Tigres Del Norte to Vicente Fernández, this was always their music of choice. I used to beg them to change the radio to my 2000’s pop. However, my appreciation for their genre grew over time. Now listening to groups like the regional Mexican band Fuerza Regida brings a modern twist to the nostalgia that hits me every time I hear them.
This Friday night is all about getting your friends, and maybe your parents, together and going to a live show. Don’t forget your Marlboro Reds on your way to watch Fuerza Regida perform “Marlboro Rojo” at Globe Life Field.
If you prefer hard rock over regional Mexican music, Blue Öyster Cult will be taking the stage at Arlington Music Hall for a head-banging good time.
If you like both but only have a ticket for Blue Öyster Cult’s show, don’t worry! PBR Texas is hosting Fuerza Regida’s official after-party. The event will feature Chuyin and Dynamiqo, the band’s official DJ. Have the best of both worlds all in one night.
On Saturday, stop by the Maker Market, where young entrepreneurs sell their original products to the Arlington community. Scour through booths selling artwork, sewn or knitted items, baked goods, jewelry and more.
Finish off your weekend by watching the Dallas Wings face off with the Connecticut Sun on Sunday evening.
However you decide to spend your weekend, let me know what you’re up to. See you next Friday!
