Police said the driver failed to yield at a stop sign before striking the bicyclist.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A 39-year-old woman was taken to a local hospital Wednesday morning after a driver failed to yield and struck her while she was riding a bicycle in Corpus Christi, police said.
According to the Corpus Christi Police Department, officers responded around 7:46 a.m. to the intersection of Oliver Court and Leopard Street for a major traffic crash involving a bicyclist.
Investigators determined the driver was traveling from Mueller Street to Oliver Court across Leopard Street when they failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign.
Police said the 39-year-old bicyclist was traveling east in the right-hand lane of Leopard Street when she was struck.
The woman was taken to a local hospital. Her condition has not been released. The driver remained at the scene while officers investigated the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
