Freddy’s American adventures aren’t over yet.
“We’re planning another USA trip this fall!,” Freddy, also known as @FreddyLA7 on X, said in a post this week.
This road trip, Freddy said, will mainly focus on college football, but he plans to check out other sports and “unique American events.” In addition to the State Fair, his list of places to visit so far includes Helen Oktoberfest in Georgia and Breeders’ Cup in Kentucky.
“The idea for this trip actually came from our visits to a few colleges on the last trip,” Freddy wrote in the post. “Everyone told us how crazy it gets on gamedays, so now we want to experience it ourselves.”
Freddy captured the internet’s attention as he journeyed through the country during the World Cup. Online viewers fell in love with him as he fell in love with America. He now has a combined follower count of nearly 900,000 between Instagram and X.
Texas is also one of Freddy’s favorite states, he said in an X post, in addition to Alabama and Tennessee.
Freddy lived the dream in America, getting VIP treatment some can only wish for. He received gifts from retired NFL star J.J. Watt, luxury hotel stays, a private NASA tour and a meet-and-greet with Houston Mayor John Whitmire. The list goes on.
But here’s the thing: Freddy has remained largely anonymous. His X account avatar is a photo of Portuguese soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo and any photo of Freddy has obscured his face. But celebrities, athletes and other public figures are said to have seen him.
Some have speculated about whether Freddy is real or if he is a viral marketing plant due to his seemingly overnight growth online and access to high-profile figures.
If Freddy is a marketing ploy, it may go down in history as one of the greatest, as it brought thousands of Americans joy.
