EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Families preparing for the new school year will have access to free health and safety services at an upcoming Back-to-School Public Safety Event hosted by the El Paso Municipal Court.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday, July 31, at the Northeast Bond Office, located at 9600 Dyer Street.
Organizers stated the initiative is designed to help families get ready for the school year by offering resources that promote child safety, public health, and education.
Among the services available will be free child car seat safety inspections conducted by certified technicians.
Parents and caregivers are encouraged to bring their vehicle, child, and current car seat to receive hands-on guidance on proper installation.
Organizers noted that car seats will not be distributed during the event.
The El Paso Department of Public Health will also provide free vaccinations for children and adults, including immunizations for Hepatitis A and B, DTaP, IPV, Hib, HPV, PCV, Rotavirus, MMR, and Varicella.
In addition, the El Paso Public Libraries system will have an information booth offering free books, educational materials, details about library programs, and information on enhanced library cards.
City officials say the goal is to help families address common back-to-school needs in one location while promoting public safety and access to community resources.
The event is free and open to the public.
