EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso Opera will open its 2026-27 season with the Encore & Overtures Gala, the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year, in September.
El Paso Opera Executive Director Arianne Marcee joined Mike Martinez and Tricia Martinez on Second Cup on KTSM+ Thursday morning.
The annual gala celebration will take place at The Elmont Special Event Center on Sept 11 at 6 p.m.
“This has been our signature fundraiser since the mid-90s,” Marcee said. “It is an entire night of entertainment and fun, of course all for the benefit of the El Paso Opera.”
Marcee told Mike and Tricia that the night will feature a silent auction, a cocktail hour, a three-course dinner, and the presentation of the Maestro Award, awarded to Steve and Isha Rogers Santamaria and St Rogers Depot in recognition of their contributions to El Paso Opera and the larger arts community.
El Paso native Luis Orozco will be headlining a 30-minute performance of A Night in Seville, joined by EPO’s Artist Ambassadors for an evening of music inspired by Spain.
The celebration continues with a Casino Night After Party, complete with casino tables, a live DJ, and dancing late into the evening.
“It’s a full night of entertainment that we provide, and in return it raises money for our season,” Marcee said.
Tickets for the Encore & Overtures Gala are on sale now and can be purchased at epopera.org.
