Bexar County authorities have confirmed the identity of a man found wrapped in plastic and placed in a closet on Sunday, July 26, as 29-year-old Michael Poche.
Poche was the subject of a missing persons report called in by Margaret Brown, a woman who was ultimately arrested for tampering with evidence, along with her husband, Christopher Henson.
Sheriff Javier Salazar said at one point in the investigation that the victim’s friends claimed he left their house after suffering from a night terror.
The 29-year-old’s death has now officially been ruled as a homicide, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office. An autopsy revealed that his cause of death was due to multiple sharp-force injuries to the head, neck, torso and bilateral upper extremities.
Deputies with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office first arrived to the couple’s home in the 700 block of Fort Leonard, on the Far Westside off Potranco Road between Highway 211 and Loop 1604, at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday night.
Brown initially told authorities that she last saw Poche at approximately 2:00 a.m. earlier that morning.
BCSO conducted a search of the couple’s home where they eventually discovered Poche’s body, inside of a vacant room’s closet, wrapped tightly inside of a clear plastic bag. Evidence reportedly indicated that Brown and Henson were attempting to clean the scene before deputies arrived on scene.
