McIntosh County, Okla. (KOKH) — A Texas man died after jumping from a boat on Lake Eufaula, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The incident happened around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday on Lake Eufaula in McIntosh County.
According to OHP, the ski boat was traveling west toward Eufaula Cove Marina at approximately 41 mph when 43-year-old Brandon Shipman of Kilgore, Texas, stood up and jumped from the boat for an unknown reason.
Troopers said Shipman did not resurface.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s Marine Enforcement Division, with assistance from the OHP Dive Team, recovered Shipman’s body Wednesday.
Investigators said Shipman was not wearing a personal flotation device at the time of the incident.
The cause of the drowning remains under investigation.
