No. 3 Texas A&M (8-0, 5-0 SEC) is just two days away from taking on No. 22 Missouri (6-2, 2-2 SEC) in Columbia on Saturday afternoon, which will end the Aggies’ successful three-game road trip that includes wins over Arkansas, and the Week 9 blowout 49-25 win over LSU that led to Tigers head coach Brian Kelly losing his job.
After the Week 10 bye, head coach Mike Elko made his weekly media rounds, including the Pat McAfee show on Thursday afternoon, praising the team’s resilience while breaking down various barriers that have kept the Aggies from postseason contention in years past.
Entering one of the toughest road environments in the SEC, Missouri freshman quarterback Matt Zollers will lead an offense looking to establish the run behind star RB Ahmad Hardy, who leads the SEC in rushing. On the flip side, Texas A&M’s offense, which has produced over 400 yards in four consecutive road games, has yet to struggle against top defenses on paper.
Missouri’s defense, however, is the real deal, limiting opponents to under 19 points per game and 90.4 rushing yards, but after shredding LSU’s elite secondary, Marcel Reed and transfer wide receivers Mario Craver and KC Concepcion have yet to be contained. Still, if the Aggies don’t establish a balance, this could be a tight, low-scoring contest heading into the fourth quarter.
What uniform will Texas A&M don on Saturday? According to the latest Texas A&M Athletics video, the Aggies will go with white helmets, white jerseys, and maroon pants, a look the program has not gone with since the 2016 season against the Auburn Tigers.
