The Fort Worth ISD Board of Managers is hosting a community listening session next week to gather input from community members.
The session will be at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at the Center for Transforming Lives campus, a nonprofit organization located at 3001 S. Riverside Drive in Fort Worth, Board Vice President Courtney Lewis announced on Friday.
The session is part of an ongoing series to facilitate dialogue and feedback from students, families and staff that will inform the district’s improvement goals as it enters its first full school year under state intervention.
The board hosted five summer listening sessions throughout June. At a session hosted at Benbrook Middle-High School, community members called for less emphasis on testing and scripted curriculum and more emphasis on critical thinking, communication and literacy.
