North Texas will get a moment of weather relief this weekend with temperatures that don’t reach triple digits — but it’ll still be over 100 degrees Friday, July 31.
A heat advisory is in place until 8 p.m. Friday over parts of North Texas, including Fort Worth. A heat advisory is issued when high temperatures and humidity combine to create dangerous heat conditions that can cause heat-related illnesses, though they are not severe enough to meet extreme heat warning criteria, according to the National Weather Service.
Friday temperatures are predicted to have a high of 105 with a low of 82, with a heat index that reaches 110. Heat index is described as the “feels like” temperature to the human body.
Saturday and Sunday will bring a slight cold front.
According to the NWS Fort Worth, a cold front is expected to reach the Red River counties late Friday evening first, and then it will progress south through the remainder of North Texas throughout the night.
Saturday will have a high temperature of 99 and a low of 76. Sunday will be sunny with a high of 98 and low of 77.

After the weekend, triple digits strike back with a high of 100 on Monday.
The Fort Worth NWs predict a “hot and dry” next week with no rain chances and a heat index between 105 and 110 starting Monday.
