One of the world’s largest campground networks is set to build a massive new facility in the Texas Hill Country, and it comes with its own lazy river and a “wine barn.”

Kampgrounds of America (KOA) filed plans for a $2 million getaway in Fredericksburg, per the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). According to the resort’s Facebook page, it is the closest KOA to downtown Fredericksburg. KOA represents over 500 campgrounds in North America. Its facilities are known for “offering the best” in hospitality and as trusted stops where campers of all ages can make memories, connect and learn. Its latest campgound is bringing a new, more family-friendly lodging option to the charming and popular wine-drinking tourist town.

The 15,400-square-foot facility is expected to open in September. The site will feature an amenity center, a rental building, a gym and a wine bar.

“Fredericksburg, get ready,” the resort said in a July Facebook post. “Designed for every type of getaway, our resort will feature a family pool with a lazy river, a shallow children’s pool, a deeper family pool with a hot tub, plus an adults-only pool with two hot tubs for those looking to relax and unwind.”

Other Facebook posts and construction updates show deluxe cabins “nestled beneath beautiful oak trees.” Renderings and pictures also show crystal clear waters and cozy campfire vibes coming the the area.
