CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Police said a 27-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly rode a horse to a Corpus Christi business and assaulted employees with a rifle.
According to the Corpus Christi Police Department, officers responded to the 400 block of Starr Street on July 25 for a reported aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Police identified the suspect as Deeandre McGee. Investigators said the case was assigned to the department’s Gang Unit because of its violent nature, with assistance from the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN).
On July 29, detectives obtained warrants charging McGee with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and engaging in organized criminal activity. Officers arrested him during a traffic stop with assistance from the Violent Crimes Unit and Drone Unit.
McGee was also charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, Penalty Group 1, between 4 and 200 grams, and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
Police later served a search warrant at a home in the 1100 block of Green Leaf Drive, where investigators recovered a rifle matching the description of the weapon used in the assault.
The investigation remains ongoing.
