Dallas-Fort Worth will see slightly cooler and less humid weather Sunday before triple-digit temperatures return for much of the coming week.
Sunday will be sunny with a high near 98 degrees, according to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office. North winds of 5 to 10 mph will bring drier air behind a weak front that moved through the region Saturday.
Skies will remain clear Sunday night as temperatures fall to about 74.
The modest relief will end Monday, when the high is expected to reach 100 under sunny skies. Temperatures could climb to 103 Tuesday before hovering near 100 through Friday.
Overnight lows will also rise, reaching the upper 70s Monday night and remaining near 79 for much of the week.
No rain is expected. Increasing humidity could push heat index values between 105 and 110 by midweek, according to the Weather Service.
