A Dallas Police officer turned himself in and is currently charged with two misdemeanors, according to a statement from the Dallas Police Department.
Senior Corporal Robert Huynh faces two charges: one for assault causing bodily injury, and another for official oppression. Both are Class A misdemeanors. Under Texas law, Huynh could face up to a year in county jail and $4000 in fines for each charge.
Huynh has worked for the Dallas Police Department since November 2018, according to the statement.
He is currently on administrative leave from his assignment on the Northwest Patrol Division, pending the results of an internal investigation.
