Fort Worth police are asking for the public’s assistance to get any information related to a homicide where a 42-year-old man was killed in June at an after-hours block party.

Jonathan Wayne Scott died of a gunshot wound to the head, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Officers responded about 4:30 a.m. June 14 to the shooting at 2303 S. Riverside Drive at a vacant lot across the street from the GLT nightclub, police said.

Police said several hundred people were at the party where officers found Scott, also known as “Blacc,” dead. A 19-year-old man also suffered a gunshot wound to his leg, according to a Fort Worth police incident report.

Investigators determined that an argument broke out during which a person pulled out a gun and fired several shots, hitting the two victims, according to police.

Police said the suspected shooter fled the scene before officers arrived. No arrests have been announced.

Tipsters are asked to contact Detective Douglas Day at 817-392-4341, or by email at douglas.day@fortworthtexas.gov. Anonymous tips can be made by contacting Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County at 817-469-8477.
