GARDEN CITY, Idaho — Athletic Club Boise dominated time of possession and generated numerous offensive chances, but couldn’t break through Saturday night against Corpus Christi FC.
AC Boise (9-4-7) possessed the ball 65% of the game, and outshot Corpus Christi 28-12, but mustered just seven shots on target in a frustrating night for the forwards. Goalie Jonathan Kliewer recorded his fifth clean sheet of the season in the scoreless draw, as the team remains in sixth place in the USL standings with 31 points.

“I didn’t expect it to end 0-0 because we’ve typically been really good at piling pressure on teams late,” said head coach Nate Miller. “It was frustrating, for sure, but I’m happy with the players. As a coach, I look at whether we’re playing well and competing at a high level, and I thought we did both. We just have to take our chances earlier in the game.”
Saturday’s draw wrapped up a grueling three game stretch for the home squad; splitting a pair of games in New York and Greensville before drawing at home in a seven day swing.
AC Boise will have some time to rest up before their next matchup Saturday, August 8 against Madison FC. Kickoff at 7:30 pm.
