Plano police were able to take a 32-year-old man into custody after he barricaded himself alone in an apartment for hours.

PLANO, Texas — Officers with the Plano Police Department took a man into custody after he barricaded himself in an apartment following a domestic dispute, according to law enforcement officials. 

Local police were called around 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning to the 600 block of Kissimmee Drive, according to to the department. An emailed statement from the Plano Police Department said the man was safely taken into custody without further incident around 1:20 p.m. 

The incident took place near apartment complexes called The Ludlow and The Buckley. These complexes sit just north of President George Bush Turnpike, near the intersection of Custer Road and Plano Parkway. 

The subject, a 32-year-old man, was the only person in the apartment where he barricaded himself, according to police.

The department’s website showed more than 50 units responding to the scene by Sunday afternoon, including negotiators who worked to make contact with the barricaded man.
