Firefighters put out duplex fire in north Fort Worth, officials say

Nine adults and nine children are being helped by the American Red Cross due to the fire, the department said.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth firefighters were called to a duplex fire Sunday afternoon on the north side of the city, officials say.

According to the Fort Worth Fire Department, crews were called at about 4:20 p.m. to the fire at the intersection of Howling Coyote Lane and Saddle Blanket Court.

Upon arrival, officials say crews found a duplex on fire with an adjacent building also catching fire. 

The fire was brought under control by 4:40 p.m., officials say.

There were no reports of any injuries, the department said. But due to fire and smoke damage, and power being cut during the fire, nine adults and nine children are being helped by the American Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
