“Landman” will be back in Fort Worth soon, a key cast member recently teased.
James Jordan, who plays Dale, was asked about the oil drama series last week while on the red carpet for “Lioness” season 3. He also stars as “Two Cups” on the spy series that returned for season 3 over the weekend.
Jordan told US Weekly that “Landman” begins shooting sometime in September and will continue into the new year.
“I believe we’re bringing back the same director, Stephen Kay, who I adore. So it’s going to be a great ride. We start that sometime in September and we’ll shoot that through the first quarter of next year. Then we should have it out … I don’t know when. It’s up to the powers that be, but we’re very excited to get started on that,” Jordan said.

‘Landman’ sets season 3 filming date
Jordan’s comments are the first update on “Landman” season 3 since Billy Bob Thornton previously teased a start date earlier this summer.
In May, Thornton told Howie Mandel that filming on the new season begins at the “end of August.”
While there’s not much difference between the timing of Jordan and Thornton’s dates, they are much later than the May start date that was previously teased by “Landman” co-creator Christian Wallace earlier this year.
When “Landman” returns to Fort Worth, it will be the latest production start date for the show thus far.
Season 1 began filming in February 2024, while season 2 rolled cameras in March 2025. Both seasons premiered the following November in their respective years.
It’s unclear what the release plan for season 3 will be.

“Landman” is described as a “modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of West Texas oil rigs.”
“As oil rises from the earth, so do secrets – and Tommy Norris’s (Thornton) breaking point may be closer than he realizes. Facing mounting pressure from M-Tex Oil, Cami Miller (Moore), and the shadow of his kin, survival in West Texas isn’t noble – it’s brutal. And sooner or later something’s got to break,” the show’s second season synopsis reads.
“Landman” is primarily filmed in Fort Worth, with several local landmarks and references appearing in the series.
In addition to the previously mentioned cast, “Landman” stars Demi Moore, Sam Elliott, Ali Larter, Andy Garcia, Paulina Chávez, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Kayla Wallace, Colm Feore and Mark Collie.
Both seasons of “Landman” are streaming on Paramount+.
