EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Half a century into her career, Carol Love is still looking forward to the first day of school.

Love, a first-grade teacher at Loma Terrace Elementary School in the Ysleta Independent School District, is returning for her 50th school year.

All 50 years have been spent at Loma Terrace.

Love said the excitement of meeting a new class has never worn off.

“I enjoy coming to see a new group of students, because every group of student gives you a new challenge, and I’m all for challenges. And I think that’s one thing that has kept me in the classroom for so long, is because it challenges me, and keeps my mind active, it keeps me active, and just the connections you make, not only with the students, but also with their parents,” Love said.

Love said the message she wants her new and former students to know is that she loves them all.
