Seven years after the Aug. 3, 2019, tragedy that claimed 23 lives in El Paso, the El Paso Chamber plans a public tribute to honor those who were killed.
On Monday, Aug. 3, 2026, the El Paso Chamber will flash the Star on the Mountain 23 times beginning at 9 p.m. in remembrance of the lives lost.
The chamber said the anniversary marks “seven years since that day changed our community forever.”
“El Paso continues to persevere, drawing strength from our shared grief and the compassion we extend to one another,” the chamber said. “As we reflect on the impact of that day, we also recognize the enduring spirit that defines our region.”
The El Paso Chamber, founded in 1899, describes itself as the unifying voice of the Borderplex business community.
The organization said it is guided by core pillars for economic prosperity that include economic development and innovation, public policy and government relations, and infrastructure and transportation.
