Choctaw Stadium in Arlington has become a regular location for Texas high school football games, having hosted nearly 80 games since 2020.

The former home stadium of the Rangers will continue that trend in 2026.

High School football will return to Arlington’s Entertainment District this fall with a 10-game lineup of regular-season contests to be played at Choctaw Stadium, it was announced Monday. The first game there will be North Mesquite vs. Arlington Sam Houston on Aug. 28, the first Friday that UIL teams can play games.

All 10 games will feature at least one Arlington ISD school, including five games that are all-Arlington ISD matchups. Aledo, winner of a UIL-record 12 state titles, will be part of the schedule at Choctaw Stadium as it plays Sam Houston on Oct. 30.
