As college football season approaches, plenty of area programs are represented in the 2026 preseason US LBM Coaches Poll.

Meanwhile, Texas Tech sits just outside the top 10 at No. 12 and SMU came in at No. 20. TCU and Oklahoma State sat just outside the poll in the “others receiving votes” category. The Horned Frogs received 63 votes, while the Cowboys earned 22.

Texas, Texas A&M and Oklahoma are considered some of the top teams in the SEC heading into 2026 campaign. SMU is considered a contender for the ACC title.
