Twelve-time state champion Aledo is set to play a regular-season contest at Choctaw Stadium, the previous home of the Texas Rangers, REV Entertainment announced Monday.
Aledo will face Arlington Sam Houston at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, in the Bearcats’ final regular-season road game. The contest was made possible by the 2026 UIL realignment, which placed Aledo in District 3-6A with Arlington ISD Class 6A schools as well as Granbury and Weatherford.
Aledo will play its first game as a Class 6A school on Aug. 28 when it takes on North Crowley at Crowley ISD Stadium. The Bearcats will also face Waco Midway and Euless Trinity in non-district play.
According to REV Entertainment, Choctaw Stadium has hosted nearly 80 UIL football games since the 2020 season. In 2025, the stadium hosted 20 games, including four playoff matchups.
Aledo last played at Choctaw Stadium in 2023 in a regional final ahead of a Class 5A Division I state championship victory. The Bearcats did not win a title in the 2024 or 2025 season — the first time they didn’t win a title in consecutive seasons since 2008.
