TV news reporter Deven Clarke said he plans to leave KPRC, extending a list of on air-talent to part ways with Houston’s NBC affiliate this year.
Clarke shared the news of his departure with his Facebook followers on Tuesday but did not say when he’d leave the airwaves. He joined KPRC in March 2021 and previously worked as a reporter at KSAT, the ABC station in San Antonio, according to his LinkedIn.
“After five and a half incredible years at KPRC, my time is coming to an end,” Clarke said in a video posted on Facebook. “But what a ride it’s been.”
Clarke did not provide a reason for the departure in his announcement. Neither he nor KPRC’s news director immediately returned a request for comment.
Clarke recapped some memorable reporting moments in his video and reflected on his exchanges with viewers who expressed how much he meant to them and encouraged him to “keep fighting.”
“What I’ll take with me more than anything is knowing that together we were able to make a difference,” he said. “From the bottom of my heart, Houston, thank you.”
