A network outage at the John Peter Smith hospital network in Fort Worth has disrupted several services while they remain open and continue to provide patient care.

The outage is affecting online services and phone lines, JPS Health Network said in a social media post on Tuesday.

JPS is operating under a “controlled network downtime” while physicians, nurses and staff are using established manual procedures that enable them to provide care while technology systems remain unavailable, the post read.

“While some services may take longer than usual as teams use manual processes, including in our pharmacies and other patient care areas,” JPS officials said. Care teams are contacting patients whose appointments need to be adjusted.

“Our technology teams continue working around the clock to assess our systems and support our ongoing operations,” the post reads. “We appreciate the patience and understanding of our patients, team members and community and will continue to provide updates as appropriate.”

The outage was first announced on Monday. Further details about when it is expected to be restored have not been released.
