Deadly 7-Eleven ambush remains unsolved more than a year later

SAN ANTONIO — A deadly ambush outside an East Side 7-Eleven that claimed the life of a San Antonio man last year remains unsolved, and investigators have released new images of a vehicle they believe could help identify those responsible.

Kiante Nakia Ageous was shot and killed around 2:50 a.m. on June 1, 2025, outside the 7-Eleven at off Rigsby Avenue near South WW White Road.

Investigators believe Ageous was followed after leaving Vibes Bar and Grill before he was ambushed at the convenience store.

Authorities say the suspects were driving a maroon or burgundy sedan. Photos previously released in the investigation show the vehicle parked near Vibes Bar and Grill before Ageous left, and investigators believe it followed him to the 7-Eleven, where the shooting occurred.

A 33-year-old woman who was riding with Ageous was also shot in the leg. She survived her injuries.

More than a year later, the case remains unsolved, and investigators are continuing to seek information that could help identify and locate those responsible.

Police have not said how many people were inside the vehicle but say they are looking for information that could help identify and locate those responsible for the killing.
