ROBSTOWN, Texas — A Robstown ISD employee has been fired after being arrested Wednesday morning by the Federal Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force in connection with an investigation into alleged online crimes involving children.

According to a letter sent to Robstown ISD families and staff by Superintendent Dr. Marc Puig, the arrest was part of a multi-agency operation led by Homeland Security Investigations.

District officials said the employee worked in an auxiliary position and was immediately terminated after the district learned of the arrest.

Investigators have confirmed that no Robstown ISD students were involved in the case, according to the district.

“We recognize the tremendous trust families place in the people who serve our schools, and we take that trust seriously,” Puig wrote in the letter. “When the District became aware of this matter, we acted immediately and decisively.”

The district said the safety and security of students remains its top priority and thanked families for their continued trust and vigilance.
