The shooting happened around 7:45 p.m. on Corder Street near Tierwester Street.
Houston police identified the victim as Jose Acosta, 19. Officers responding to the scene found Acosta suffering from a gunshot wound inside a vehicle that had crashed into a ditch. He was taken to a hospital, where he died Tuesday, police said.

Investigators said Acosta and his 15-year-old brother were inside the vehicle when they were approached and robbed at gunpoint by three unknown men.
According to police, Acosta attempted to drive away when the suspects opened fire, striking him. His 15-year-old brother was not injured.
No arrests have been made.
