Expect slower traffic this morning. A crash involving an 18-wheeler has shut down a part of Interstate 35 (I-35) on Thursday, August 6, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.
The incident occurred around 6:22 a.m. at I-35 in the southbound lanes between Southcross Boulevard and S.W. Military Drive, according to traffic monitoring site SigAlert. All southbound lanes in that portion of I-35 have been closed due to the crash.
Due to the incident, traffic is being forced to the frontage road. Drivers should expect delays up to 10 minutes in that area due to the closure. Traffic has been backed up to Malone Avenue (Exit 152), according to SigAlert. Drivers in the area are traveling at about 1 to 24 miles per hour.
It’s unclear whether any injuries occurred or what caused the accident. Currently, there is no information on when the lanes will reopen. This is a developing story and will be updated with new information as it becomes available.
