Deputies in Oklahoma are investigating the death of a missing Dallas man as a homicide after his body was found burned and shot multiple times, according to a news release from the Love County sheriff’s office.
The unidentified man was first found by deputies in Love County, Oklahoma, on July 30 while responding to a grass fire in a field on Highway 32 west near State Highway 96.
The man’s autopsy revealed he was shot four times in the chest, ruling his death a homicide, according to the release. Deputies said evidence collected suggests the man was not killed at the location his body was found.
Deputies believed he could be a missing person from Dallas. Dallas police have not yet confirmed to The Dallas Morning News the man’s identity or when he was reported missing.
Love County sheriff’s office is working with Dallas police to determine where the man was killed and collect any information that can lead to an arrest, deputies said.
