There will be live high school football broadcasts on a new medium this season.
Games are coming to KDFI 27 (FOX 4 PLUS). The package was previously on TXA 21 through 2019, then CW33 from 2020 to 2025.
Among the teams that will be involved are six-time state champion Highland Park, five-time state champion Allen, three-time state champion Denton Ryan and a Parish Episcopal program that has won six TAPPS state titles in the last seven years.

Matchups are set for all 11 weeks of the regular season. Ten of the games will take place on Thursday evenings, plus one on a Friday. Each will be broadcast live on FOX 4 PLUS and simulcast on the FOX LOCAL app.
FOX 4 PLUS is a premium extension of KDFI Channel 27. It is available on Spectrum/Frontier Channel 7, DirecTV/DISH Channel 27, plus antenna 27.1 and 4.2. It can also be accessed through YouTube TV and Fubo.
The FOX LOCAL app is available for free on Roku, Amazon FireTV, Apple TV, Google Android TV, Vizio, and the smartphone. Viewers in Dallas-Fort Worth and nationwide can navigate to FOX 4 when selecting a city.

One of the top matchups will be Mansfield Timberview playing at Denton Ryan on Sept. 3 at the C.H. Collins Complex. Ryan is coming off a 12-2 season and regional final appearance, and it has a new head coach as Shane Tolleson takes over after compiling a record of 45-17 in five seasons at Waxahachie.
Allen will play at Prosper on Sept. 17 at Children’s Health Stadium in a game that could decide the District 6-6A title. Allen beat Prosper 31-30 in a thriller last year, scoring the winning touchdown with 1:12 left.
Highland Park and star quarterback Buck Randall will visit Carrollton Creekview on Oct. 15 at Standridge Stadium. Both teams had superb seasons last year, with Highland Park going 12-2 and reaching a regional final, while Creekview finished 9-2.
The lone Friday game on the broadcast schedule is Parish Episcopal playing at Plano Prestonwood Christian on Oct. 23. That is a rematch of last year’s TAPPS Division I state championship game that Parish Episcopal won 14-7.
As the regular season nears its conclusion, games on Oct. 29 and Nov. 5 will be determined closer to kickoff. That will allow FOX 4 PLUS to feature matchups with the greatest playoff or district championship implications.
