EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — A joint law enforcement operation in El Paso ended on Wednesday when a wanted man surrendered after a brief standoff, authorities said.
According to the El Paso County Constable’s Office, Precinct 1, on Wednesday, the office assisted in an operation with the El Paso Police Department, the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, and the Texas Rangers to apprehend a wanted subject in the 200 block of Carnival Drive in El Paso.
After a brief standoff, authorities said 36-year-old Adam Martinez surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody without further incident.
Martinez was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a charge of Sexual Assault of a Child (Rape) with bond set at $150,000, according to the El Paso County Constable’s Office.
The constable’s office said the operation highlighted the importance of partnerships among local, state and federal agencies and reiterated its commitment to working with law enforcement partners to keep El Paso County safe.
