EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — El Paso ISD is weighing a potential bond for campus upgrades as the district continues working to recover from a financial crisis that led it to declare financial exigency and move forward with employee terminations.

During a Community Conversations segment, El Paso ISD Board President Leah Hanany was asked to walk viewers through what the district is seeking with the possible bond, which is being discussed as the district navigates its ongoing financial challenges.

The district also held several information nights earlier this week to gather feedback from families, staff and the community. Hanany was asked what kind of input was collected during those meetings, as well as how she would address taxpayers who may not trust the district with that amount of money.

In addition to the bond discussion, the district’s board is set to fill two vacancies during a special board meeting scheduled for tonight. Hanany was asked to discuss the process for filling those seats.
