Former Chief William McManus was extremely efficient overseeing the San Antonio Police Department. He was caring and devoted to doing the right thing.
He will long be remembered as one of the best of the best. San Antonio had the fortune to have him in leadership for so long.
Per his request, we will remember that he cared and did a good job.
I wish former San Antonio Police Chief William McManus had been around in the ’60s and ’70s when I was a San Antonio police officer.
The article gave us some information we didn’t know about him, showing us the person he really was.
Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones wants a new vote on Project Marvel and a new Spurs arena.
Consider, in the June 7, 2025 San Antonio mayoral runoff, Jones defeated Rolando Pablos with 77,484 votes (54.3%) to his 65,202 votes (45.7%).
I believe San Antonio would support another vote on the Spurs arena following a redo on the mayoral election.

Of course there has to be debate about what the best balance should be, but at least recognizing the importance of consumer protection is necessary for businesses not to be seen as simply chasing profits.

Light’s career included helping many a student with scholarships via rodeos and livestock shows throughout South Texas, including San Antonio. His son-in-law Phil Lyne is a retired pro rodeo hall of famer.
